To begin the DIY putting green project, the installer will need to prepare the landscape.  The ground will need to be shaped and smoothed over and when this portion of the project is completed the ground should match the contour desired for the DIY putting green.  After shaping the ground area, the installer will need to create the DIY putting green base with concrete or limestone.  If limestone is used, two different layers are required.  This base must be created to the same shape as the intended DIY putting green. 

Once the base is applied, if it is not of concrete, it can be flattened; if the base is of concrete it can be smoothed over until level after being poured.  Breaks must be added during this stage, and shaped into the limestone or concrete.  Cups are than installed wherever they are desired.  After the ground is fully prepared, the turf can be set up for the DIY putting green.  The industrial carpet cutting knife can be used to shape the turf to desired dimensions.  If the turf has to be pieced together this can be done through the use of polyurenthane glue or mylar tape.  The final step is to add seam fillings with a flex material/sand mixture, and the placement of a dressing on top of the green turf.  This will be then swept with a broom to make the turf strands stand upright; sweeping also aids in making the entire surface of the turf completely smooth and suitable for putting.
